Who We Are
Founded in 1997 by the late Paul Macream, our non-profit began with a simple but powerful mission: to support those in need in the West Island community. What started humbly in his own backyard has grown into a vital resource now operating out of our location in Ste-Geneviève.
With the unwavering support of his sister-in-law (affectionately known as Ma Tante) and the dedication of his family, the mission has been elevated to new heights and the organization continued to flourish.
today, we serve more families than ever, and we are proud to carry forward the same vision that inspired our founder serving our community with heart, dignity & hope.
Our mission matters
La Maison entre Familles supports families through difficult times by providing food and meaningful connections to the different resources in our sector.
For many, we are a stepping stone on the path to greater stability and well-being. We work closely with other local organizations to strengthen the broader network of care available to those who need it most.

Community Outreach
Community Support
At La Maison Entre Familles, we are deeply committed to supporting students and fostering strong community relationships. Our initiatives are designed to address food insecurity among students and collaborate with community partners to extend our reach.
Supporting people in Need
CÉGEPs and AJOI:
We collaborate with local CÉGEPs and Action Jeunesse de l’Ouest-de-l’Île (AJOI) to provide essential food support to students. Recognizing the challenges students face, especially those balancing academics and financial constraints, we supply food baskets and maintain student fridges stocked with nutritious options. These efforts ensure that students have access to the nourishment they need to succeed academically and maintain their well-being.
Centre De Formations Aux Adultes:
Understanding that many adult learners rely on loans and bursaries, we offer tailored support to students in adult education centers. For those enrolled full-time in vocational training programs and receiving financial aid, we provide food basket delivery services. This initiative ensures that adult learners can focus on their education without the added stress of food insecurity.
Community Engagement:
At our food bank, we believe that giving back is one of the most powerful ways to grow. We are proud to collaborate with local organizations, schools, and institutions to welcome volunteers completing their community service hours.
Every person who joins us brings something unique: a helping hand, a smile, and the desire to make a difference. Together, we sort food, prepare baskets, and serve families with dignity and respect. Through this partnership, volunteers don’t just give their time — they discover the impact of compassion, teamwork, and hope in action.
